Reports say that EA Sports is preparing for a sequel to the hit MMA simulation title "EA Sport UFC" that was released in various platforms including PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in June 2014.
According to IGN, EA Sports has broken the news via its official twitter page. The game publisher's post reads, "The Wait is Finally Over! Tune in tomorrow." The post comes with a picture that shows the octagon with a number two in the middle a date that says Nov. 10, 2015.
Following the Twitter post, EA Sports has released the trailer (watch below) for the upcoming "EA Sports UFC 2" and thus confirming that a sequel to its 2014 title is indeed coming out. According to MMA Fighting, even if the trailer for now does not show actual gameplay scenes EA Sports is assuring the MMA-dedicated gamers that they will be bringing "all new Knockout Physics System" for "EA Sports UFC 2."
The first UFC simulation game was released for Playstation 4 and Xbox One in 2014. Later on EA Sports released a mobile version for Android and iOS. When the first game came out, it received mixed reviews. For one, IGN describes it as "reverent and fantastic-looking take on the complex sport that ultimately lacked a sense of danger and excitement."
According to Gamespot, even with this year's announcement of "EA Sports UFC 2," fans could not expect this to be a yearly thing like what 2K Sports or EA's other sports games do. No other details have been shared besides the trailer. EA is known to have acquired the UFC rights from the now defunct THQ back in 2012 before it announced that it had ideas for games based on the MMA sports.
"EA Sports UFC 2" is expected to release in spring 2016 on Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
