'Samsung' News: 'Galaxy S7' To Be Unveiled in January? 'Exynos 8890' Hits Mass Production

Despite the rumors that said that the Exynos 8890 will undergo mass production by December of this year, a new report has surfaced online and it suggests that Samsung has already started making this next great chip. This means that the production of Exynos 8890 happened earlier than expected. If the rumor is true, the company would have the chance to have the "Samsung Galaxy S7" be available for release by the February of next year, with an official announcement and unveiling in January.

According to GSMarena, the company may be relying on another chip variant as well, probably the Snapdragon 820, in addition to an Exynos 7422 that was also rumored and thought to star in the "Galaxy Note 5".

According to the same source, Samsung will produce as many Exynos 8890 Galaxy S7 variant as it will with the Snapdragon 820 version. It's worth noting that this shall not be the first time that the company relies on its own chip. Previously, Samsung preferred its own chipset over Qualcomm's primarily due to Snapdragon 810's overheating problems.

Furthermore, the Exynos 8890, also known as M1 or Mongoose, is gonna be the first Samsung chip to have custom CPU cores.

Apart from the chipset reports that come with the anticipated arrival of the "Samsung Galaxy S7", there is also the undying rumors regarding the next flagship's camera. It was said that the company may be going towards a different direction with the S7, and as sources dig up patent filings, the name BRITECELL surfaces. This leads to the expectations that the rumors about a 12 MP type ½" imager are true.

So as a summary, we can expect that the "Samsung Galaxy S7" will come with an Exynos 8890 chipset, with possible Snapdragon variants and the flagship phone may also come with great camera sensor. If these rumors are true, the "Galaxy S7" may actually mark a new point of comparison for its rivals and it also proves that the giant mobile company never fails to continue on improving its brand.
