A ranking official of Bethesda has revealed on Thursday that the future downloadable contents of "Fallout 4" will be shaped by fans, and the DLC is expected to arrive in 2016.
"Fallout 4" game director Todd Howard said that the game's dev team is planning to release multiple expansion packs. Howard has revealed this development via an interview with Red Carpet Report, a report from Gamespot said.
"This game is huge, but it's not just this launch. It's going to be well deep into next year. It's like the game is done [does air quotes] but it's not done, because until everybody plays it, it's not really done. Because what they bring to it is really important; we're going to see what people like, what they want more of, what they want different, and we're going to do that," Howard said as quoted in the report.
"Our fans are amazing; they're super-smart. This is important to them, just like it is to us," he added.
It can be recalled that game developer Bethesda announced the game's DLC back in September, ahead of the slated release date of "Fallout 4" this month. The company earlier said that the multiple expansion packs are expected to be released in 2016 and "they would deliver $40 of value in a $30 package."
"By comparison, Bethesda released five paid DLC expansions for Fallout 3. These were Operation Anchorage, The Pitt, Broken Steel, Point Lookout, and Mothership Zeta. They all came with new quests, items, achievements, and more. You can probably expect the same from Fallout 4's DLC," the report noted.
"It's not going to be just DLC that will be released for the game either- Bethesda also confirmed that it plans to take fan feedback, being submitted through various channels such as social media, into account, to release free title updates for the game. Bethesda at this point really would not have much of a choice but to support the game with fan feedback influenced changes," Gaming Bolt said.
