NBA News and Trade Rumors: Kevin Durant Reveals Free Agency Decision, Its ‘Heart versus Business’

With the contract of Kevin Durant coming to its end, and as he would be a free agent in this coming summer, fans and experts alike cannot help but speculate about his next career move. In the previous months there were already some reports linking Durant and his possible transfer to some of NBA's top teams.

In one of the reports, it outlined some teams showing great interest for Durant. Teams such as Lakers, Houston Rockets, and even the defending champion Golden State Warriors, have been reported to be interested with Durant. But perhaps the most eager team wanting for Durant to play with them would be the Washington Wizards. The Wizards would be really happy to see one of their own to be wearing their jersey. The 2014 Most Valuable Player who grew up in D.C was excited upon his return to his hometown during their match against the Wizards last Tuesday.

According to usatoday, Durant was elated upon his return; he even stated that, "It means a lot coming back here because I remember as a kid catching the train to watch Wizards, Mystics, and Georgetown all the time. To be able to walk on the court, it shows that ... Hopefully there are more kids behind me."

Despite this elation of Durant and the eagerness of the Wizards, still it is unclear whether Oklahoma's star player would play for his home town next season and somehow following the homecoming of LeBron James to Cavaliers. For when K.D was asked by a reporter whether how he would balance "heart and business," Durant still has no thought about it. In the interview he also said that;

"I don't think about the future too hard," said Durant. "I'll worry about that stuff when I get there. I've been saying I don't know for a long, long time but I'm really just focused on our team, happy I'm playing again and that kind of takes over."

It seems like there are no certainty with the rumored transfer move of Durant despite being a free agent soon. But if you would base on his statement last week you would somehow guess his next move. According to espn, Durant stated that;

"Any good thing takes time. In this league, we always talk about windows. You usually give teams two or three years. This is what you have for two or three years. If you don't get it done, then you're moving on. A lot of the good teams in our league, they stick together, keep fighting and keep building that chemistry and experience together."
