Major Baseball League pitcher Barry Zito lists Hollywood Hills home for $4.375 million

Barry Zito, the popular Major League Baseball pitcher and World Series champion, has put his Hollywood Hills home up for sale for $4,375,000. Built in 1962, the property is a part of the player's real estate profile, which includes several residences across San Francisco.

The Los Angeles Times says the property lies in the coveted Bird Street area, which houses a long list of big name celebrities.

The estate has a living space of 4,366 square feet and features four bedrooms, six bathrooms and a master bedroom. There are fireplaces in all the family as well as living rooms, a guest room and library.

Open and bright, the living space includes vaulted ceilings and glass walls, which offer an uninterrupted view of the surrounding hillsides, cityscape and nearby ocean.

Details include limestone floors, wooden beams, plaster walls and granite in almost every direction one turns. The living room, meanwhile, overlooks a serene pool. With a massive kitchen, dining room and outdoor cooking facilities, the place makes entertaining easy.

Zito, now a free agent, was with the San Francisco Giants when he acquired the property for $2,155,000 in 2010. However, his $126-million contact with the club ended last year.

Earlier, the left-handed pitcher leased out his Marin County home for $28,500 per month. This property is spread over two acres and has 7,116-square-feet living area, including four bedrooms, seven bathrooms and several fireplaces. It has numerous attractive outdoor amenities, including an expansive swimming pool as well as a terrace.

In the past, the 35-year-old played for the San Francisco Giants and the Oakland Athletics. In December 2011, Zito married former Miss Missouri Amber Seyer.
