Ricki Lake, best known as the host of her self-named TV talk show, has sold her Los Angeles estate for a whopping $8,450,000.
The Emmy Award winner acquired the property from actress, director and producer Courtney Cox and her former husband David Arquette in Octocber 2002 for $5.6 million.
While Lake spent 10 years in this house, Cox is also known to have spent more than eight years of her life here.
Lake, who produced the controversial documentary "The Business of Being Born," listed the plantation-style residence for $8,750,000 in July 2013. Truliablog reports that the estate, located at 230 N Carmelina Avenue, finally changed hands Jan. 24 this year.
Lake's 5,226-square-foot mini-estate includes six bedrooms and five bathrooms. The entrance of the two-story house leads to an open hallway with French doors, floor-to-ceiling glass windows and lofted wooden beams. This room leads to a formal living room and an adjacent dining room.
The master bedroom is situated upstairs and includes two fireplaces and an adjacent sitting area. Hate stepping out of a warm shower onto cold tile? The floor of the master bathroom has radiant heated floors.
The outdoors of the property features lush green private grounds, a spa, swimming pool and an expansive, outdoor covered living room as well as a plethora of patio areas.
The neighborhood of this estate boasts of several celebrities, including Arianna Huffington, Maria Shriver, Tobey Maguire, Lindsay Buckingham and Betty White.
Though her daytime television show "The Ricki Lake Show" was pulled off the air just after one season, Lake succeeded in winning a Daytime Emmy award for "Outstanding Talk Show Host."
In March 1994, Lake married illustrator-bartender Rob Sussman in Las Vegas. Together they had two sons - Milo Sebastian Sussman and Owen Tyler Sussman. Lake and Sussman separated in August 2003 and divorced in 2005. In 2012, the actress eloped with jewelry designer Christian Evans, although the two later held a beach ceremony, which was attended by few close guests.
