In a penthouse designed and modeled with King Louis XIV of France in mind, Donald Trump lives like a king. The American business tycoon and presidential hopeful may have to move to the White House if he gets elected to the 45th President of The United States, but his New York residence at 66th Floor, Trump Tower, Fifth Avenue in New York is something he will definitely have a hard time parting with, according to the Daily Mail.
The $100-million, three-story penthouse is literally lined and littered with gold and diamonds starting with the front door and the crown moldings. Accents such as lamps, vases, and platters are also made of 24-carat gold. US Magazine shares that the floors, ceilings and pillars in each story is crafted out of marble.
Around the house, residents and guests are treated to oversized paintings and sculptures inspired by Greek mythology. The statue of Eros and Pysche makes its own home in the living room and is accompanied by plush cushioned sofas, Greek vases, and a Muhammad Ali tribute book that costs $15,000. The penthouse also offers a spectacular view of the Manhattan skyline and the New York Central Park.
Parked somewhere around the house is 9-year old Barron Trump's Mercedes toy car. Barron is Trump's youngest son. In one of the corners of the penthouse is Melania Trump's office, which features a scenic view of the city and is furnished with a luxurious sofa and a Louis XIV-inspired office desk. Melania is Trump;s wife. The office is also where she keeps her jewelry, tucked in a Louis Vuitton case.
The ceilings feature paintings of Louis XIV's military victories. Crystal chandeliers dangle all over the place. Angelo Donghia, the designer who turned Trump's residence into a palatial wonder in the modern world, took inspiration from King Louis' historic Hall of Mirrors in Versailles, France. Donghia has also worked with elite celebrities including Diana Ross, Ralph Lauren, and Neil Simon to name a few.
Trump has a net worth of $4.5 billion, according to Forbes.
