Singer-actress Mandy Moore will star alongside Milo Ventimiglia and Justin Hartley in an untitled NBC pilot for a comedy-drama series.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the untitled NBC pilot is written by executive producer Dan Fogelman ("Galavant") and directed by the directing duo of John Requa and Glenn Ficarra of "Back in the Game." The trio previously worked on the romantic comedy "Crazy, Stupid, Love" starring Steve Carrel, Julianne Moore, Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling.
It will also mark the reunion of Moore with Fogelman, who penned the animated film "Tangled."
The "birthday dramedy" pilot will revolve around the characters who actually share the same day when they were born.
Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia ("Heroes") will play the roles of Rebecca and Jack, a married couple who still regard each other as best friends. They eventually learn that she is pregnant with triplets following their "big move" in Pittsburg.
Meanwhile, Hartley's ("Smallville") character as Kevin will be a bachelor who is currently bored with his job as a successful TV actor.
Completing the characters are the unseemingly distant father and son duo of Randall and William. Sterling Brown ("American Crime Story") plays the role of Randall, who is a New York-based businessman and a dedicated father figure in his family. Ron Cephas Jones ("Mr. Robot"), on the other hand, portrays as William. He is Randall's biological father who abandoned the newborn child at a fire station.
Moore, who was known for "Princess Diaries" and "A Walk To Remember," will be seen the in the movie "47 Meters Down" and the upcoming TV sequel of the Disney movie "Tangled." She previously appeared as a guest star in the cancelled "Red Band Society" last year.
The recent TV credits of Ventimiglia include his roles in "Gotham" and "The Whispers" while Hartley was seen in "Revenge" and "Mistresses." He recently got a series regular role in "The Young and The Restless."
Created by Dan Fogelman, the untitled NBC pilot is produced by Fogelman with Jess Rosenthal and Charlie Gogolak.
