There are rumors suggesting the Samsung Galaxy S7 will be announced at the Samsung Unpacked 2016, in Barcelona on Feb. 21, 2016.
Back in September, it was reported that Samsung was already working on the Galaxy S7 as it had been detected in database of Geekbench going by the name of "Lucky-LTE." Moreover, there have been reports suggesting that "Lucky-LTE" is internally known as "Project Lucky."
Now that the secret is out, new rumors suggest that the Samsung Galaxy S7 will be unveiled early next year along with its Edge version, the Galaxy S7 Edge. These two phones will be the successors to this year's releases, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge devices.
According to Android Authority, the Samsung Galaxy S7 might be arriving earlier than expected. Samsung released its Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus before the IFA in Berlin took place in September. And since insiders claim that the tech giant has already begun developing its firmware for the Galaxy S7 way earlier than it started developing the S6, the latest Samsung flagship is expected to come out before the Mobile World Congress in March.
According to Design and Trend, the South Korean company always holds its Unpacked event for the purpose of presenting its latest smart phone products before the Mobile World Conference trade show kicks off on Feb. 22 in 2016. A famous tipster known as Ricciolo has taken to Twitter to spread the news that the Samsung Unpacked 2016 event is confirmed for Feb. 21.
As previously reported Samsung might release two versions of the Galaxy S7 based on its chipset. One version might contain the Exynos 8890, Samsung's Exynos M1 system on a chip (SoC) found in Geekbench, while the other one might have a Snapdragon 820 chip. Moreover, both versions or the rumored S7 are expected to have dual-camera set up and a bigger display, most likely 5.7 inches, than the previous 5.1-inch Samsung releases.
No announcements from Samsung have been made yet.
