'Real Housewives of New Jersey' News: Teresa Giudice Saves Her House, Settles Debts

Teresa Giudice has just saved her house from foreclosure. The legally-embattled reality star of "Real Housewives of New Jersey" is currently serving her sentence in jail, but is set to be released before Christmas. She will finally be able to return to her 10,000-square-foot estate in Montville, New Jersey.

In March 2014, Giudice and husband Joe pleaded guilty to mail, wire, and bankruptcy fraud. According to NJ.com, their estate went into foreclosure last April, amidst their financial and legal woes. They have since listed their family mansion for $3 million.

After a series of unfortunate events, Giudice is finally setting things right. People reported that the 43-year-old reality star was able to pay her house debt in full, retaining the rights to the property.

"Like a lot of people, the Giudices had fallen behind on their mortgage payments, which then puts the home into foreclosure as a way to protect the bank," her lawyer, James J. Leonard Jr. explained. "Fortunately, they were able to pay back the money owed in full and the home is no longer under the threat of foreclosure."

Giudice began her sentence at the Federal Correctional Instituion in Danbury, Connecticut in January. She will be released on Dec. 23, but Joe is scheduled to begin his own 41-month sentence shortly after. Though the family is not out of the woods yet, they are reportedly happy to be spending the holidays together in the home they have built together from scratch.

According to Trulia, the couple bought the 3.5-acre lot in 2002 for $530,000 and built mega-mansion on their own. The house, which incorporates a "Chateau-style" theme, has six bedrooms and six baths. It opens to a grand two-story entrance with double Cinderella staircases, reflecting Teresa's over-the-top personality. It features marbled floors, ornate accessories and oversized drapes.

"There is a lot of sentimental value there for Joe and Teresa, who are thrilled and relieved that they get to stay in the house," Leonard added.

Teresa and Joe have four daughters: Gia, 14, Gabriella, 10, Milania, 8, and Audriana, 6.

"The Real Housewives of New Jersey," currently on its season 7, airs every Sunday, 8 p.m. on Bravo.
