Max Ehrich has been cast for a recurring role in "The Path," Hulu's original drama series.
"The Young and The Restless" star will play as Freddie Ridge, "the drug-addicted teenage son of a wealthy family, whose parents offer to make a donation to the cult in exchange for his rehabilitation," Deadline has reported.
In addition to "The Young and The Restless" where he plays Fenmore Baldwin, Ehrich is known for his role in "High School Musical 3: Senior Year," "Pregnancy Pact" and "Under the Dome." He also appeared in "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" and "100 Things to Do Before High School."
Ehrich was nominated in the Daytime Emmy Award for "Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series" for three consecutive years since 2013 for his portrayal as Fen in Y&R.
"The Path" tells the story of "a family at the center of a controversial movement struggling with relationships, marriage and power, with each episode taking an in depth look at what it means to choose between the life we live and the life we want."
Max joins the cast members including Aaron Paul ("Breaking Bad") as Eddie Cleary, Michelle Monaghan ("True Detective") as Sarah Cleary, Sarah Jones ("Alcatraz") as Alison, Hugh Dancy ("Hannibal") as Cal Roberts, Rockmond Dunbar ("Prison Break") as Detective Abe Gaines, Kyle Allen ("One Night") as Hawk Cleary, and Amy Forsyth ("A Christmas Horror Story") as Ashley Fields.
It is produced by Universal Television and Jason Katim's True Jack Productions. The drama is created by Jessica Goldberg. Goldberg will also write and executive produce the series, along with Katims and Michelle Lee of True Jack Productions.
"The Path" is slated to premiere in March next year on Hulu. The 10-episode drama series was originally titled "The Way" but was changed last September over legal issues because there is an actual ministry called The Way International.
