Shailene Woodley and Theo James return as Tris and Four, the ass-kicking duo of post-apocalyptic Chicago in "Allegiant," the third installment of the "Divergent" series. Lionsgate Films has just released its new official trailer via Buzzfeed. As the two films before it, "Allegiant" promises action-packed scenes, and also takes the viewers to a whole new world.
The last time viewers saw the two lead characters, they have joined the Factionless society to lead a revolt against the Erudites. In the Erudite headquarters, they discovered that the Divergents in fact are an experiment conducted by the 200-year-old walled city outside them.
The new trailer of "Allegiant" reveals that Tris and Four will decide to leave behind all that they have known and go to the unknown, beyond the wall.
"Those people out there trapped us in a cage for 200 years. That is not someone I want to engage with," Evelyn, Four's mother, warns them.
There, Tris and Four quickly realize that the old society is actually a more dangerous place than they were expecting. In order to save all of humanity, they must decide who to trust.
"Allegiant" is based on Veronica Roth's bestselling novel of the same title, the third in her "Divergent" trilogy. According to ComingSoon.Net, the first two movies, "Divergent" and "Insurgent," have grossed more than $550 million at the box office worldwide. It also stars Octavia Spencer, Naomi Watts and Ansel Elgort. Nadia Hilker and Bill Skarsgård join the cast for the third insallment.
Along with the new trailer, Lionsgate also released character posters featuring Woodley and James.
