Winter 2016 TV Schedule: Upcoming and Returning Series on FX [WATCH]

FX Network just released the TV schedule of upcoming and returning series for Winter 2016.

The network finally set the premiere dates of various shows on FX and FXX including the two new series, “Baskets” and “American Horror Story.”

2016 Upcoming FX Series

"Baskets"

Ace Showbiz posted the official synopsis for the new FX series from comedian duo of Louis CK (“Louie) and Zach Galifianakis (“Birdman”) with Jonathan Krisel. “Baskets” follows the life of Chip Baskets, the character played by the “Hangover” movie franchise actor. Chips, who previously failed to become a French clown, returns to his hometown in Bakersfield in exchange of working as a jester at a local rodeo.

“Baskets” will premiere Season 1 on Jan. 21, 2016 at 10 p.m. on FX.

"American Crime Story"

According to the summary posted on FX, the anthology series "American Crime Story" revolves around O.J. Simpson’s high-profile murder trial which will be shown in the eyes of the lawyers. It is based on Jeffrey Toobin’s book, “The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson.” The cast includes Cuba Gooding Jr., John Travolta, Sarah Paulson, Courtney B. Vance and Bruce Greenwood. “Glee” executive producer Ryan Murphy produced the series with Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Scott Alexander, Larry Karaszewski and Brad Falchuk.

“American Crime Story” Season 1 will premiere on Feb. 2, 2016, at 10 p.m. on FX.

2016 Returning Series on FX and FXX

The Wrap also reported that several original scripted comedy series are scheduled to return on FXX while the war-thriller series “The Americans” is slated for season 4.

“It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia”

“It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia” is one of the network’s long-time running series. The show will start with the aftermath of Season 10 as they began ”moving to the suburbs, shooting a smut film, defending themselves in court and playing another deranged round of the board game Chardee MacDennis.”

“It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia” Season 11 will return on Jan. 6, 2016 at 10 p.m. on FXX.

“Man Seeking Woman”

The comedy series starring Jay Baruchel will return for its second season offering. Josh Greenberg, Baruchel’s character, will continue his misadventures in finding his perfect girlfriend. It is based on Simon Rich’s short stories “The Last Girlfriend on Earth.”

“Man Seeking Woman” Season 2 will air on Jan. 6, 2016 at 10:30 p.m. after the Season 11 premiere of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.”

“The Americans”

“The Americans” revolves around a seemingly ordinary couple who lives in Washington D.C. with their children. Behind their facade, Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys’ characters are actually working as top-secret KGB officers who resides near the home of an FBI agent.

“The Americans” Season 4 will return in March, but the premiere date will be announced soon.
