The Qualcomm CPU for mobiles next generation, the Snapdragon 820, has been confirmed and is said to have been made more powerful than the previous Snapdragon 810. The upcoming Snapdragon 820 CPU has an improved GPU, processing speed, clock speed, and many more features.
Snapdragon 820 reportedly will be having four cores - which could also be identified as a Quad Core type of chip, the Qualcomm website posted. Other than the Snapdragon 820 quad core processing, Qualcomm also added that Snapdragon 820 will feature a faster 64-bit Kryo CPU that will have a clock speed of up to 2.2GHz.
As for Snapdragon 820 GPU (Graphics Processing Unit), it will have the Adreno 530 card which has the capability of producing a 4K quality, when playing back videos or taking photos using the camera function of the phone. Qualcomm also mentioned that the Snapdragon 820 will support up to 28MP of camera quality and will carry the Qualcomm® SpectraTM Image Sensor Processor (14-bit dual-ISP) feature.
Snapdragon 820 is said to be running on X12 LTE which Qualcomm stated will be "three times faster peak upload speeds and 33 percent faster peak download speeds compared to those of X10 LTE." Now for its battery life, Snapdragon 820 will have a more power saving feature than its previous models, thanks to the Qualcomm Hexagon 680 DSP, which brings both efficiency and battery-improved performance to the mobile devices.
The Snapdragon 820 is also said to be using Qualcomm's next generation graphics processing unit, which they refer to as Adreno 530. Qualcomm says that the 530 will achieve a graphical performance, which is 40 percent swifter and 40 percent more power saving than Adreno 430 of the predecessor Snapdragon 810.
Snapdragon 820 excitement builds up for the anticipated mobile CPU, however there is a downfall as Qualcomm has neither confirmed nor announced the beginning of shipping for the new chipset. Though according to a report by GSM Arena, it is looking like the Qualcomm is in plan or hopes of releasing their chipset by 2016.
