Timothy Hutton lists renovated 1790 New York farmhouse for $1,895,000

Timothy Hutton, an Academy Award-winning actor, has listed his Hudson River Valley estate in Paterson, NY, for $1,895,000.

According to the New York Post, the four-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom property consists of a renovated spacious farmhouse dating back to 1790, and is equipped with a study as well as a "bona fide" farm kitchen that has been modernized with sophisticated appliances. In addition, the property features a study and a separate open studio with an attached kitchen and a full bathroom.

The farmhouse, which covers a floor area of 3,200 square feet, boasts of as many as five fireplaces to help keep its residents warm through snowy New York winters. Hardwood throughout, the house includes a four-story post and beam barn with two garage bays.

Set on a 40-acre lot, the property not only offers privacy and peace, but at just one hour from New York City, convenience and accessibility, too. The grounds are also well adapted for entertaining and include a residence for the caretaker and additional living quarters, a swimming pool and open-air pool house complete with a fireplace.

Zillow reports that Hutton purchased the farmhouse for $547,000 way back in 1990 and has been on and off the market a number of times since 2008. Initially, the actor listed the property for $2.95 million in 2008, but did not find any buyer. It was listed again in May for $2,965,000.

Fifty-three-year-old Hutton is the youngest actor to win the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. He won the Oscar at the age of 20 for his performance as Conrad Jarrett in "Ordinary People."
