NBA Trade Rumors: In Order to Strengthen the Franchise, Memphis to Let Go of Zach Randolph Either to Lakers, Knick, Mavericks or Raptors

The team who finished 5th last season, the Memphis Grizzlies, seems to be having some slow start this regular season. The team which fought Golden State Warriors in the semi-finals is on the 9th spot of the Eastern Conference with 5 wins and 6 losses.

As a result of the said slow start of the Grizzlies, rumors are all around speculating about possible two options of the team. According to cbssports the team should get a shooter, and in order to do so, they would have to make a trade. Cbssports presented that Grizzlies may "make a small trade and hope it pays off big time or make a huge trade and end the Grit-Grind era." The Grizzlies opted to choose the first scenario. However there are still some reports stipulating that with the way Chalmers is shooting right now, he would not likely change the course of the franchise.

Despite the acquisition of Mario Chalmers from Miami Heat, speculations of another trade rumors have not stopped since then. Even up to know there are still rumors pointing to a possible trade for Zach Randolph. From the perspective of cbssports, it mentioned that;

"He [Randolph] does not shoot threes, is not fast, and is not a great defender. So how much value could he have? GMs are still going to look at him as a major upgrade. Randolph is the only player outside of Gasol and Conley who can fetch the kind of reconfiguration that Memphis would need for an overhaul."

In connection to this possible upgrade move, yibada reported that Grizzlies power forward Zach Randolph "could be moved during midseason." According to the report, New York Knicks, Toronto Raptors, Dallas Mavericks, and even Lakers would love to have Randolph in their team.

In particular, yibada detailed that Lakers would likely trade Nick Young and Ryan Kelly in exchange for the 2004 NBA Most Improved Player. With this trade move, Lakers hopes for Randolph to be the big man they need under the rim and as a mentor for their young core.
