Charlton Heston Net Worth: Academy Award-winning Actor's Beverly Hills Mansion for Sale for $12.25M

The home of the late "Ben-Hur" actor Charlton Heston is now on the market for $12.25 million. Heston's property is located in Beverly Hills, above Coldwater Canyon.

Heston's residence was built in 1959 and was designed by William S. Beckett, a popular midcentury modern architect, a report from LA Times said on Monday. According to the report, the Heston family has owned the residence since 1959, and the original vibe and the dramatic feel of the home remain very alive today.

"The more than three-acre estate contains the five-bedroom house, a swimming pool and a tennis court. A separate structure has an observation deck, an art studio, an elevator, a screening room and an additional bedroom with a bathroom. The main house interiors include an open living area, an office with a balcony, a formal dining room and a marble bar. Most of the rooms have mountain views. The master suite features dual bathrooms and walk-in closets, a fireplace, an office and a two-story library," the report said.

Aside from the luxurious features of the Heston residence, the property also boasts mature landscaping, and it also has a built-in barbecue and a meditation area.

"Memorabilia from Mr. Heston's films-like Star of David door knockers from 'Ben-Hur' is displayed, though it is not for sale. The house remains largely as it was when it was built," listing agent Myra Nourmand of Nourmand & Associates said, as quoted on The Wall Street Journal.

Nourmand said that the home needs a "loving restoration." For his part, Fraser Heston, the son of Charlton, said that it was the Heston family who decided to sell the Beverly Hills property, and he added that it was a "difficult decision."

"It's the right time," he said, as quoted in the report.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Charlton Heston has a net worth of $40 million dollars.
