Broadcast company CBS decided to change the episodes airing this week for "Supergirl" and "NCIS: Los Angeles" because of its theme that they deem inappropriate to the situation in France after the Paris terror attacks.
"Supergirl" and "NCIS: Los Angeles" are scheduled to air this week with their respective latest episodes that feature themes revolving terrorists and CBS is quick to shuffle them as a way to show respect for the recent events that occurred in France. According to Entertainment Weekly, "Supergirl" which airs on Mondays is supposed to show the episode called "How Does She Do It?" but because it centers on terroristic acts of bombing in National City, producers have decided to do a Thanksgiving episode instead which is called "Livewire." It will debut a new villain character that will also go by the same moniker.
For "NCIS: Los Angeles," the show is slated to air "The Long Goodbye" instead of the original plan to show an episode about a young girl who becomes a member of a terrorist group. The new episode is now about a woman who goes missing and the group is forced to get involved in the search since it was Sam Hanna who helped her gain entry into the United States.
Meanwhile, in a report by Variety, the third episode of "Supergirl" found Kara trying to prove that she can stand on her own, away from the shadow of her cousin Superman. In an interview with Cat Grant, she inadvertently revealed her relationship with her cousin. This leads to the media comparing the two until Kara herself finds that she is questioning her own confidence. The third installment also finds Supergirl battling with Reactron, a human villain, who has unfinished business with her famous superhero cousin. Kara is still learning to fight without getting hit too much but ultimately she wins.
