Chris Webber lists Malibu home for $3.9 million

Chris Webber, former NBA athlete, has reportedly put his Malibu home on the listing market for $3.9 million.

The Zillow Blog reveals that the beach-front home lover purchased the home for $3.7 million in 2007.

"I lived most of that time in apartments. But I always dreamed of building a house on the water in Detroit - I'm a Pisces, after all," Webber said in a 2009 phone interview with Detroit News.

In 2009, he came pretty close, purchasing a Wallace Frost mansion located in Grosse Pointe Park, Detroit with ample views of a nearby lake. However, he sold it in Jan 2009 for $3.5 million, according to the Detroit-based publication.

The Malibu property is just one of six homes Webber owns in California. The residence is a 2,910-square-foot single-family home comprised of three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Sitting on a 0.65-acre lot, interiors of the residence feature floor-to-ceiling glass windows, an open floor plan with hardwood flooring and drywall ceilings.

The home has a large deck looking out at the ocean, a sleek swimming pool and open greens.

"Located behind gates, in the close-in area known as Big Rock, this stunning Architectural Ocean View home offers you a welcoming feeling of privacy, luxury and relaxation," the listing description reads.

Apart from his love of water and real estate, Webber has always loved sneakers, previously serving as the president of DaDa shoes. In an interview with Complex, Webber revealed he stores all his shoes in a barn.

"I've got a barn. Yeah. It's a barn with a lot of stuff, a lot of storage. Some memorabilia and stuff like that, but mostly shoes that I have," he said. "Other guys would have [signature shoes] and I just told them to give me 50 pairs back in the day, and I got them and just wanted to keep them."

Webber has been a five-time NBA All-Star and has played for six teams throughout his career. He was part of the "Fab Five," the class of the finest Detroit players ever recruited. However, his involvement in the "Ed Martin Scandal" stripped him of all his titles and he now works as an analyst at NBA TV. He is also working on a book.
