iPhone 7 Chooses LCD Display over AMOLED Screen; iPhone 7 Mini Comes with Metal Body, A9 Chipset

The iPhone 7 has been the subject of rumors ever since it was reported to roll out in September 2016. The most recent talks point to the new generation Apple phone coming out with an AMOLED screen display built by Samsung, a prediction which was adamantly shot down by a well-known iPhone analyst.

The analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo from KGI Securities, has been known to predict accurate changes on several major changes in the iPad and iPhone line-up over the years. His latest prediction stated that it is not possible for iPhone 7 to have an AMOLED display, then further noted that Apple will not be shifting from using the LCD display for at least three more years, Forbes reported.

It has been predicted that Apple would not consider changing into an AMOLED screen until 2018. This is despite the fact that LCD displays draw less battery power, allowing users to operate their smartphones for a longer period. Aside from saving power, AMOLED screens are said to come with further benefits to the smartphone, one of them is having an enhanced color accuracy. It is also reported that the new iPhone is expected to come with 6 to 6.5mm-thick batteries, which could benefit from using an AMOLED screen.

Meanwhile in another news, the iPhone 7 Mini has been rumored to be scheduled for release early next year. Ecumenical News reported that Apple is going to attempt to use it in up-selling the larger iPhone 7 as well as the iPhone 7 Plus devices, both of which are expected to feature larger storage space plus better chipsets.

The iPhone 7 Mini, on the other hand, will reportedly feature a metal body as opposed to plastic. It is also expected to be equipped with an A9 chipset, which is similar to the chipsets in iPhone 6s devices released this year. Are you looking forward to the iPhone 7's release? Share your thoughts!
