Spin Doctors drummer Aaron Comess lists East Village duplex for nearly $4 million

Aaron Comess, founding member of the multi-platinum Spin Doctors, has listed his 2,796-square-foot East Village duplex for $3,995,000, reports the New York Post.

The drummer has lived in this 124 E. 13th St. property for the last 25 years.

The recently renovated duplex includes two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large living room (for New York, that is), lofty ceilings, an office and a deck. The master suite has two walk-in closets and a luxurious bath.

The property listing describes the spacious dining area with domed windows as ideal for relaxing and entertaining. Meanwhile, the adjacent state-of-the-art open kitchen is complete with a gas line for a grill and most modern appliances.

"I really love the big open feel and the outdoor space, which is amazing in New York City," Comess told the Post, adding, "It comes with a hot tub and a grill. I cook a lot and love having it. Just being in the neighborhood is great. The best restaurants are here, from Han Dynasty to Momofuko."

There is storage room and a guest bathroom with an outsized soaking tub down the long hallway from the entrance. The place also includes a 300-square-foot terrace, an outdoor shower and a private yard that can be accessed from the master suite, as well as a garden and garage parking.

The first floor of the property is a recording studio, which the drummer shares with producer and engineer Roman Klun. Equipped with high-tech recording gear and premium keyboards, guitars and - of course - drums, the studio's guests have included singer, songwriter Joan Osborne and the late Phil Ramone, a renowned violinist and composer.

"We made a lot of great records there. Tons of amazing artists have been through here," Comess told the Post.

Comess said he is leaving the neighborhood to live in South Williamsburg.

The duplex is listed with broker Meghan Lowther of Douglas Elliman.
