Shannen Doherty's cancer admission made her braver in facing her illness. On Saturday, Nov. 14, she made her first red carpet appearance at the 2015 Baby2Baby gala in Los Angeles after confirming in August that she has breast cancer.
Despite Doherty's cancer, she was able to put a smile on her face during the event and appeared happy to see her fellow attendees. In the midst of her battle with cancer, she is facing another battle against her former manager, who reportedly unpaid her health insurance premiums.
The 44-year-old was seen in a sophisticated Vera Wang black dress coupled and she wore a pair of long earrings. She maintained a simple look for the occasion, Daily Mail reports.
"Such a wonderful evening with inspiring women like @kerrywashington who gave one of the most inspiring speeches and the gorgeous, funny @jessicaalba check out #baby2baby an organization that helps supply necessities for children coming from low income or no income families," Doherty wrote on her social media post.
In August, Doherty's cancer shocked everyone, especially her "90210" fans who followed her stardom throughout the years. She claimed she was diagnosed late because she was not covered by her health insurance. She filed a case against Tanner Mainstain, her former management company, for failure to pay her health premiums, Us Weekly reports.
"Yes, I have breast cancer, and I am currently undergoing treatment. I am continuing to eat right, exercise and stay very positive about my life, the "Charmed" actress said of her cancer diagnosis. "I am thankful to my family, friends and doctors for their support and, of course, my fans who have stood by me."
During Doherty's cancer diagnosis, it was reported that the actress was required to have mastectomy and chemotherapy. She has been married to photographer Kurt Iswarienko since 2011. The two have no children and are said to be considering adoption. Her husband also filed a case against her management company for mismanaging their assets.
