Netflix Sleep Tracking wristband pauses shows when you fall asleep (VIDEO)

For those who have ever fallen asleep while watching a show on Netflix, there is hope yet.

A team of especially entrepreneurial Netflix employees has developed a wristband that pauses your show when you doze off.

The wristband is a customized Fitbit presented at Netflix's Hack Day, and is programmed to display the message "Looks like you fell asleep!" when it senses you're no longer following Frank Underwood's mind-bending treachery, saving a time-stamped "sleep bookmark" for you.

Other handy new technologies presented at the event included Playlist, a new type of keyboard for those who watch Netflix on game consoles, a feature that allows users to share their account with others when they visit, and another that lets users use four-digit PINs to protect their shared accounts.

According to Netflix, however, the public shouldn't hold its breath.

"We should also note that, while we think these hacks are very cool and fun, they may never become part of the Netflix product, internal infrastructure, or be used beyond Hack Day," the company blog reads. "We are surfacing them here publicly to share the spirit of the Netflix Hack Day.
