It has been reported recently that DeMarcus Cousins had another locker incident with his Coach George Karl following a loss to San Antonio Spurs. It was speculated that Cousins released some foul words directed towards his coach after the game.
The said incident was not left unnoticed by the management. Vlade Divac and the rest of the management then questioned the desire of their big man to play for coach Karl the rest of the season. The said event in the locker room then led to a closed door meeting; players, coaching staff and other personnel where present to discuss important matters regarding their team and its current status.
This was not the first time the Cousins action and lack of maturity was put in question. Cheatsheet reported that "He [Cousins] has continually been a problem in the locker room and struggles to get on the same page as any of his head coaches outside of Mike Malone. This comes to a point where Divac and team owner, Vivek Ranadive, should look into moving Cousins for the betterment of the team."
In connection to possible trade, it is now being rumored that Boston Celtics is interested in acquiring Cousins for their line-up. According to christiantoday, "the team [Celtics] has showed interest in having Cousins on board although no concrete agreements have been made. Even Boston Celtics president Danny Ainge won't talk about just how possible this trade is just yet."
If indeed true, the transfer of Cousins to other team would mean a relief for coach Karl. With an impending trade, Kings would get an elite player in exchange of their talented and yet problematic center player. But still it is a risk to take for the Kings, they would have to choose to relieve their centerpiece in favor of a possible game changer for the team, who would hopefully be in connection with George Karl and the of the players.
