Prince William and Kate Middleton Visits Taj Mahal To Honor Princess Diana

The royal couple, Prince William and Princess Kate, are set for another trip and Kensington Palace tweeted that they are bound to visit India for the first time next spring.

Last Friday, Nov. 13 the palace post on Twitter: "It will be the first time The Duke and Duchess have visited the country. Further #RoyalVisitIndia details will be announced early next year!"

Kensington Palace Officials also said that "The visit is being undertaken at the request of Her Majesty's Government."

According to Celebrity Dirty Laundry, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge plan to visit Taj Mahal to honor William's mother, the late Princess Diana. The royal couple wants to visit the iconic bench where the late Princess Diana once sat, alone. Rumors are now circulating that Prince Charles and Queen Elizabeth are both furious about the said Taj Mahal trip.

It has been said that Diana's solo trip at Taj Mahal back in February 1992 help strengthen the talks that her marriage with Prince Charles was really in trouble. The image of Princess Diana sitting on that bench alone with the Taj Mahal on the background only proves that she was then living a lonely and depressive life.

According to PEOPLE, Princess Diana's pose at the Taj Mahal was "signaling her loneliness in an iconic shot."

Meanwhile, William and Kate's upcoming trip to India will be their first travel together after Kate took a break from overseas trips since she gave birth to Princess Charlotte. According to US Magazine, this will be their fourth major overseas tour as a royal couple.

As for Prince George and Princess Charlotte, there is no official statement yet if they will be accompanying their parents in India. However, back in August, a palace insider said that it is unlikely for the children to go with their parents in their upcoming trips.
