David Goel of Matrix Capital buys NYC residence for $19 million

David Goel, the founder of the hedge fund management firm Matrix Capital, has reportedly purchased a co-op residence on Manhattan's Fifth Avenue for $19.9 million from Charles Bronfman, the beverage business magnate.

The apartment, which takes up the entire sixth floor of the 13-story building at 810 Fifth Avenue, was listed for $19.9 million, reports Bloomberg.

According to the listing records at StreetEasy.com, the apartment is a huge 11-room residence comprised of three bedrooms and four bathrooms. An elevator opens to a gallery that leads to a large living area. There is an entryway into the adjacent dining room as well and on the right of the living room a library.

There is a service elevator that opens into the large kitchen with a mid-rise island. Right opposite to the kitchen is the master suite, which has an adjoining dressing room and an in-suite bath. A maid's quarter with an attached bath, an office and a laundry are also included.

Interiors of the home feature hardwood and carpeted flooring with large French windows, drywall ceilings and wooden doors. A 24/7 doorman facility is available in the building.

Matrix Capital currently manages assets worth $1.6 billion and was the second best performing hedge fund firm in the Bloomberg Markets List. Matrix capital is now backing a national campaign to raise awareness and confidence about the investment market.

"At Matrix Capital, we have believed for many years that the industry should evolve as a profession, and as a team, we dedicated ourselves to achieving Chartered status which we successfully attained several years ago. Now, the Personal Finance Society campaign is an excellent opportunity for financial experts nationwide to join forces and demonstrate just how much the industry has grown and developed in recent years," Gary Matthews, a chartered financial planner at matrix Capital, told Shropshire Live.
