"Spectre," the latest James Bond movie, has made millions locally and worldwide, roughly $550 million, but former 007 himself, Pierce Brosnan, seems unhappy about it and made his sentiments known.
Similar to some critics and viewers, Brosnan was disappointed with the 24th James Bond offering. In an interview with Hitflix, he said, "I thought it was too long. The story was kind of weak - it could have been condensed. It kind of went on too long. It really did."
The 007 agent from 1992 to 2002 said it didn't seemed like a Bond film at all. "['Spectre'] is neither fish nor fowl," he said. "It's neither Bond nor Bourne. Am I in a Bond movie? Not in a Bond movie? But Daniel, in the fourth go-round, has ownership of it. He had a nice looseness to him."
He added, full of praise, "He's a mighty warrior, and I think he found a great sense of himself in this one with the one-liners and a nice playfulness there. Just get a tighter story, and he'll have another classic."
When asked about his opinion on Craig's recent admission that he might be done with being James Bond, Brosnan said that the former probably just needs enough downtime and might consider returning in the future. Based on experience, he shared that once done with a movie, you'd never want to think about it, think about it's name or go near it. It only proves that Craig's current take on it is shared by Brosnan. After all, he has been at it for seven years.
Incidentally, reports Entertainment Weekly, Daniel Craig appeared for the first time on Ellen and was once again asked if he will be in another James Bond movie. Craig said that he was asked about it two days after he wrapped up filming "Spectre" and his answer was short and sweet. He doesn't have an answer, even if people want one. Fans will just have to wait and see then.
