One of One Direction's songs from its new album, "Made in the A.M.," titled "Perfect," is said to be about Harry Styles' former girlfriend, Taylor Swift. Since its release, the new album has rocked the charts, and new reports claim that there were lines in "Perfect" that refer to "Haylor" (Harry and Taylor).
The famous British group visited James Corden at "The Late Late Show" for The London Session with Apple Music, and it seemed that Styles hinted that indeed one of their songs is about Swift. The 1D crooner dated the American pop princess for three months in 2013. Swift, known for writing songs about her past romances, appeared to have been treated the same by her former flame, Movie News Guide reports.
"I think the thing with songwriting is everyone writes from personal experience," Styles told Corden when he was asked what the song "Perfect" is all about. "It's not always necessarily what it sounds like it's about. Sometimes it is! And it's open to interpretation," the singer added.
The sensational band members remain reserved about the topic and said that their fans could interpret the song any way they want it. The famous line that suggest "Haylor" references goes, "If you like cameras flashing every time we go out, and if you're looking for someone to write your break up songs about, baby I'm perfect."
According to Mashable, the latest 1D song appear to reference Swift's "Style," a track from her album "1989." The song was said to have been written by the pop star for Styles.
In the past, Styles revealed that he has no problem with Swift writing songs about their breakup. "I think we always say that we write from personal experiences, so it would be hypocritical of us to be like, 'Oh you can't write a song.' She's really good so... They're good songs. So I'm lucky in that sense."
Meanwhile, "Perfect" was filmed in New York City, which is said to be the "Bad Blood" singer's favorite place. The cloudy shots in the videos of the two songs are reportedly also almost identical.
