'Red Dead Redemption 2' Release Date & Rumors: Game to Come Out in October 2016 With New Characters; Jack Marston to Become the New Protagonist?

Rumor has it that Rockstar's popular video game "Red Dead Redemption 2" is expected to be released in October 2016. However, the game developer has yet to issue a formal statement about the game's release date. Aside from this, several rumors also suggest that the game will feature three additional characters, a report from Master Herald said on Wednesday.

"The October 2016 release date seems to have a better leg to stand on compared to early next year since it has been the tradition of the New York City-based developer to release video games in October to be able to capitalize on the immediate Holiday season that normally comes with shopping frenzies," the report said.

According to the report, a recent rumor points out that "Red Dead Redemption 2" will likely have three additional characters. It was said that the two playable characters that will be introduced in the game are Irish and Seth. In addition, Jack Marston is also expected to be featured as the new protagonist.

"As far as the game is concerned, there will be a new multiplayer feature as well. This includes seeing players using co-op mode which allows them to form gangs of their own between 4 to 8 players. The game will include a 'Gang System' that allows players to recruit AI units which are somehow similar to another sister game title, Grand Theft Auto," Latinospost said.

"Rockstar Games is reportedly planning to use nine different states for the sequel. That includes Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Dakota, the Rock Mountain and Mexico which should be a huge coverage that will offer quite a gaming experience. While the real status of the game's development is unknown, it looks like Rock Star is looking for more help with word that they are in search for a network programmer as well that specializes in open world game mechanics," the report added.
