"Fifty Shades Darker" star Dakota Johnson recently opened up about her character Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey's (Jamie Dornan) sex scenes.
In an interview with People, Johnson also talked about her role in the upcoming movie "How to Be Single." In the film, Johnson will play the role of Alice, an independent woman who just ended her long-time relationship with her boyfriend. According to the actress, Alice and Anastasia are two different types of women, although some fans think that they are exactly alike.
"Alice is a smart and sensitive woman, figuring out what it means to not rely on a relationship to make her happy," she said.
However, in "Fifty Shades Darker," Anastasia is described as a young woman who is consumed by her feelings for a man. Anastasia, although smart, will find it difficult to stand up for herself against Christian.
Meanwhile, Johnson also talked about what drew her to E.L. James trilogy.
"It's an exciting endeavor. It is rare these days to have the main character in a film about being wild and partying and dating be a woman," she said.
In other news, "Fifty Shades Darker" will introduce three new characters that will make the lives of Anastasia and Christian even more difficult.
According to Design & Trend, one of these characters is Leila Williams, the woman who was Christian's former submissive.
Leila and Anastasia are two different people. It is believed that Christian never developed any feelings for her. In the upcoming sequel, Leila will reappear and will cause some risk to Anastasia's life when she finds out that she replaced her role in Christian's world.
Two other characters that will be introduced in the movie are Jack Hyde and Mrs. Robinson.
"Fifty Shades Darker" is slated to hit theaters in the United States on Feb. 10, 2017.
