Just before Nintendo aired its first Nintendo Direct since CEO and President Satoru Iwata passed away in July, many "Minecraft" fans swear they saw a listing for a Wii U version of Minecraft in the Pan European Game Information (PEGI) page. Don't bother looking now because you won't find it there and searching for it will only disappoint you.
According to Nintendo Life, which somehow was able to grab a screenshot of the listing before it was gone, classification boards such as PEGI are normally regarded as reliable sources when you want some information on upcoming video game releases. Basing on the screenshot that was shared, "Minecraft Wii U Edition" from Microsoft Studios will be released November 12.
Even if the listing seemed a little hard to believe given the fact that a different brand is coming to a Nintendo system, it seemed plausible because "Minecraft: Story Mode" was reportedly confirmed for release on Wii U, according to Nintendo Life. It was also reported that Telltale's Director of Creative Communications Job Stauffer has told Family Gamer TV, "The sets and the environments and everything that looks like Minecraft is actually built in Minecraft and that gets shifted over to all the different platforms."
With this the user of Nintendo Wii U became hopeful that soon the uber popular building game would be ported to the Nintendo system. It would be safer not to get hopes high for now. But that does not mean that fans should not hope for it at all. There might still be a possibility that Minecraft on Nintendo could one day see the light of day. Who would have thought Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII from Square Enix would be included in Super Smash Bros.?
Nintendo Direct comes with surprises so we can stand by and wait for the next Direct. In the meantime why do you think Minecraft was removed from the PEGI listing.
