As previously reported, "Elder Scrolls" and "Fallout" are two of Bethesda's most successful titles. Before the release of "Fallout 4", "Elder Scrolls" is still Bethesda's biggest title for having sold 22.7 million copies of "Oblivion" and "Skyrim" combined worldwide to date.
It was speculated that when "Fallout 4" it will outperform Elder Scrolls in terms of copies sold. It may not be fair to judge too early as rumors now are suggesting that Bethesda could be working on Elder Scrolls 6 soon. But a recent report says that "Fallout 4" is selling fast like hot potatoes.
According to Gamezone, SuperData confirms that "Fallout 4" has sold almost 2 million digital copies within 3 days following its release. PC sales comprise majority of the sold digital copies at 1.2 million and many of the PC games have bought the game from Steam. The digital sales alone equals more or less one million dollars.
In another news, "Fallout 4" has reportedly shipped more copies on a single day. According to GameSpot, Following the game's release Bethesda announced that the game shipped 12 million copies worldwide for launch day alone. The 12 million copies are equivalent to more than $750 million. More over. Moreover, Fallout sales are also hitting record highs in physical stores.
According to GameSpot, Bethesda said, Major retailers have informed Bethesda of the tremendous consumer interest in Fallout 4 , with some noting it was the most pre-ordered game this year." Then the company added, "Following the release, Bethesda was advised that launch day sales at some of the leading retail chains were the largest of any game released this year. Bethesda is now shipping more Fallout 4 units to retailers to meet ongoing market demand."
"Fallout 4" is selling like crazy and it were to match "Elder Scrolls" unit sales, it still need to sell more or less 10 million copies more.
