After season 14, the Project Runway has launched a new refreshing season introducing a new bunch of young designers aging from 13 to 17 year old.According to Entertainment News, the show's new revamp is as exciting as the young contestants' energy, styles, passion and charm get featured in this new season.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the Project Runway's mentor, Tim Gunn mentioned," There's a huge journey ahead for these teens and as for where they'll end up? I don't even think they can imagine, just aesthetically. They'll encounter so many things that are new. And the fact that they possess such a strong point of view now, it's remarkable."
He also revealed that, "Many were very self-educated. I'd ask, "How did you learn how to do this?" And they'd look at me like I have three heads and say, "YouTube!" I didn't even know this content was there!" It seems like Tim Gunn is really impressed with these talented junior designers as they showcase their skills and enjoy their whole experience.
Gunn has dropped some controversial comments though regarding the last season. He admitted that he hated Season 14. According to Gunn, he really felt disappointed with the previous set of contestants because they appeared to be not working with their best potential. When teens were compared to adults, he said that he would rather choose to mentor the teens rather than the adults. He added that the kids are getting along well together and there's no drama but they are all thrilling to watch with their adorableness. He was also surprised that the kids are mature about the critiques and feedback from their judges which includes Kelly Osbourne, Christian Siriano and Aya Kanai. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the judges assured that they will be honest, straightforward and sometimes rough towards the young contestants.
Project Runway Junior aired their first episode last November 12. The next upcoming episodes are scheduled every Thursday at 9PM exclusively at the Lifetime channel.
