Venus Williams has sold her Hollywood Hills West neighborhood home for $1.7 million. She acquired the estate in 1995 for $1.9 million.
The Los Angeles Times reports that the mid-century modern house was originally listed for $1,799,000 in January and changed hands this month.
Located on a half-acre lot in the heart of Nichols Canyon, this 1,500-square-foot home includes three bedrooms and two bathrooms, in addition to a fireplace. The floor plan boasts popular mid-century features such as exposed beams and a string of floor-to-ceiling windows offering exquisite views of the mountains.
The athlete's listing agent, Christine Taylor of Gibson International, told AOL that after purchasing the property, Williams put in a new deck, redid all the floors and added the fireplace.
"With her own business, Williams has been known to run the gamut of styles when it comes to taking on interior design projects," Taylor said, adding, "Williams has always had a knack for keeping the decorative design of each home she does in keeping with the home's architectural integrity."
The estate features a gated private driveway, a landscaped yard, a swimming pool and a long deck that sprawls over the canyon below.
Williams and her sister Serena own other properties in the Los Angeles area, as well as luxurious estates in Florida.
"They have numerous properties, but they can't live in all of them, so she decided it was time to sell, especially now that the market is stronger again," Taylor said.
Williams, 33, won her 45th Women's Tennis Association title at the Dubai Championships last month. In addition to seven Grand Slam singles titles, she has four Olympic gold medals.
