Lindsay Lohan is coming out of hiatus with her return to the big screen.
Lohan became well-known for her iconic movies as twins in "Parent Trap," a budding teenager in "Mean Girls" and a daughter-turned-mother in "Freaky Friday." After two years, she is doing a new film titled "The Shadow Within."
Lindsay Lohan has announced her new project through a selfie in Instagram with a caption "My first day on my new film!!! Will be sending a sneak peak of my character this week."
Lohan's new movie will be her first project after two years of rest following her 2013 movie, "The Canyons" and TV movie "Liz & Dick."
According to People, despite of her absence from the big screen, Lohan's multiple arrests run-ins with the authorities had kept the fans informed of her whereabouts. Together with her eight years of visiting in and out of the court, she also have served both in jail and in a rehab. Her 2012 case of reckless driving earned her a mandatory community service which she completed last May.
She also started a controversy when she posed dressed as Sharon Tate on the birthday of Charles Manson, the one who arranged the actress' murder.
The Guardian says Lindsay Lohan seems to be recovering from all of her unpleasant experiences in the past. Her new project is known to be an English translation of Japanese director Yoshitarō Nomura's 1970 psychological drama "Kage no Kuruma."
Euan Ferguson of the Guardian also took notice of Lohan's change in demeanor during the West End play Speed-the-Plow last year. He said, "Anyone who turned up expecting Ms. Lohan, making her stage debut at the age of 28, to exhibit spoilt-child celeb behavior - fluffing lines, or breaking parole, or racing off to rehab, or simply not turning up - was in for a disappointment. She was rather sweet, rather husky, rather wide-eyed - and rather good. She was, in fact, possibly the best thing about this show."
