Lady Gaga to deliver keynote address at SXSW Music Festival Friday (VIDEO)

Lady Gaga will make history when she delivers the keynote speech at the annual SXSW Music Festival at the Grand Ballroom of Hilton Austin this Friday. She will not only be the first woman keynote speaker at the event in the last 15 years, but the youngest speaker ever.

"I'll be performing for the first time at SXSW on the Doritos Bold Stage at Stubbs!" Mother Monster told E! Online, adding: "I've wanted to perform my new album 'ARTPOP' at a festival, and I can't wait for the show. Outside stage, beer, barbecue and music lovers - it's my favorite way to experience music, and I can't wait to share it with the crowd."

When MTV News asked about SXSW's decision to assign the gig to the 27-year-old singer, James Minor, general manager of the music festival, said, "I think she's a pretty obvious keynote choice."

He then elaborated: "Our festival is known for its diversity and I believe that having her as a keynote follows with that thinking. In the past we've had everybody from Lou Reed to Smokey Robinson to Dave Grohl. We've kept it pretty diverse throughout the years."

According to an earlier report, Gaga's SXSW performance will benefit her Born This Way Foundation. What's more, the only way fans will be able to see the show is by completing any one of the Doritos Bold Missions challenges. Tasks include trading in your suitcase for a Doritos suitcase for 48 hours and wearing whatever's inside to the concert, jumping from a 30-foot-high platform to grab a dangling ticket, and subjecting oneself to an "electrifying" haircut from a Doritos barber, among other things.

Gaga and Doritos will pick their favorite entry and award that person with an all-paid trip to Austin. Doritos representatives will be on hand to witness the challenge and add your name to the list as soon as the mission is complete.
