'Persona 5' Release Date, News, Features, Updates: Unique Story Plot Revealed

"Persona 5" was supposed to be released this year but due to some delays in its development, it will be released next year. Since many fans of the games are waiting for its release, developer Atlus has revealed some teasers about the game.

"Persona 5," which is exclusive to Play Station (PS3 & PS4) platforms, has a unique story plot that interest gamers. Previous franchise of the titles focus on the protagonists hunting down the enemies in order to solve a murder or mysteries. But in "Persona 5," the plot structure is different since it is the protagonists that are being chased.

"This time, it's about a group of high school students that are being 'chased' by unexpected occurrences due to the justice they believe in," director Katsura Hashino said, according to Crossmap. "We're writing the story to convey a thrilling everyday life in the shoes of these characters that are as large as life, in this juvenile school setting."

In "Persona 3" and "Persona 4," the characters are not high school detectives but in "Persona 5," the main characters are all high school students who go to school during the day and take a different persona as thieves during the night. Each of them has his own supernatural powers and transforms into a different character.

In a previous report, the main characters of the game were revealed including a 16-year-old student called The Protagonist, the blonde guy Ryuuji Sakamoto, the girl Ann Takamaki, the blue haired Yusuke Kitagawa and a cat named Morgana.

The characters are based on literary and historical thieves like Arsene Lupin, Ishikawa Goemon, Zorro, the pirate Blackbeard and Carmen Sandiego, Gematsu reported.

The protagonists will not steal for their own benefit but they are targeting corrupt official, Gamespot reported. Because of that, personal armies as well as hired investigators of these officials will chase them. That is why the story is said to focus on a group of high school students who will be chased because of the "justice they believe in."
