Geoff Ogilvy, three-time World Golf champion and former U.S. Open champion, has put his ocean-front Del Mar estate on the market for $6.75 million, reports the Realtor.
Constructed in 2008, the three-story home sits on more than half an acre at 340 Serpentine Dr., Del Mar, Calif., and includes four bedrooms and four full and one half bathrooms. According to the property listing, there is provision for an additional bedroom.
The home has been designed so as to offer views of the Pacific Ocean from all the main rooms. The floor plan shows 4,633 square feet of living space featuring a private balcony and three fireplaces. The estate is complete with a dining area, a breakfast area, den, master retreat, office and spacious gourmet kitchen.
The exterior includes a private pool with a spa-like bath and an outdoor deck with 1,000 square feet of deck area. The home comes with two two-car garages, one of which is attached to the main building. The home has a gated entrance and a good deal of privacy, as it is set back from the street.
The property comes with a central forced air cooling system, a natural gas heating system and modern appliances, including an oven range.
The Australian golfer has been using this estate as a vacation home since he moved to the Phoenix area in 2013. Ogilvy also owns two other homes worth several million dollars in DC Ranch, a posh neighborhood in North Scottsdale, Ariz. He purchased the Del Mar property for $4.15 million in 2009.
Thirty-six-year-old Ogilvy became a professional golfer in 1998 and won his first major championship at the 2006 U.S. Open, becoming the first Australian to win a men's golf major since Steve Elkington at the 1995 PGA Championship. He won the Open Championship in 2005 and PGA Championship in 2005 and 2007. In 2011, he won the Masters Tournament. He currently trains at the Whisper Rock Golf Club in Scottsdale.
