"Real Housewives of New York City's" LuAnn de Lesseps has once again cut the price of her Hamptons farmhouse, which is now set at $8,995,000 after originally listing three months ago for $9,995,000.
According to a report in Zillow, the 6,500-square-foot home sits on a 2.2-acre lot and is comprised of six bedrooms and seven full and one half bathrooms. It features a large screened-in balcony and a finished basement. The home includes a master suite with his and her private bathrooms, walk-in closets and a fireplace on the first floor. The master suite also has double French doors that open to a patio and trellis overlooking the immaculate grounds.
The listing notes that the home is complete with an English country-style bar in the living room, a formal dining room, a dining patio with capacity to seat 24 people, a library, a gourmet kitchen, a breakfast area with a fireplace, and a separate den.
On the outside, the property boasts an expansive landscaped area, which hosts a tennis court, large patios, a heated gunite pool and especially-marked areas for entertainment. The property also includes a separate pool house with a den, kitchenette, loft, full bath and a three-car garage.
The property overlooks 54 acres of preserved farm fields and is next to the Bridgehampton Golf Course.
De Lesseps and her husband acquired the property for approximately $500,000 in the mid-1990s and spent $1.4 million to build the house. The construction was completed in 1996 and she renovated the property later, adding a large porch with columns in the front. She refurbished the master bedroom and modernized the kitchen as well, all in all spending about $2 million.
On "Real Housewives of New York City," de Lesseps is known as "The Countess." In 2010, she released her first single titled "Money Can't Buy You Class."
The Wall Street Journal quotes her saying that she is selling the property, as her children are older and she is ready to get something smaller on the water. "It was a place we called home for a long time and I'm sad to see it go."
