The legendary Robert Taylor Ranch, one of the most exclusive private compounds in the country and the largest residential property in the city, was announced to have been sold for $20 million. The transaction marked the largest single family home that was sold in Brentwood.
Rochelle Atlas Maize of Nourmand & Associates represented the buyer, while Danelle Lavin of Hilton & Hyland and Asher Dann of Coldwell Banker represented the seller.
According to the press release in Business Wire, the 112-acre compound is located in the rustic-lux heart of Mandeville Canyon and is considered to be one of the country's most exclusive and private compounds. It was built by architect Robert Byrd in 1956 for Waite Phillips. The compound has over 20,000 square feet of living space across numerous buildings, a large pool, a cabana with an outdoor kitchen, equestrian facilities, riding arenas, a north-south tennis court, and professionally landscaped grounds with numerous pastures and even a private hiking trail.
For decades, the ranch has served as a playground for the rich and famous. It is also surrounded by celebrity neighbors including LeBron James, Dr. Dre, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Reese Witherspoon.
