Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin buy Malibu residence for $14 million

Gwyneth Paltrow, the "Iron Man" actress, and husband Chris Martin of "Coldplay" have reportedly purchased a $14 million estate in Malibu, Calif.

The powerhouse celebrity couple purchased a plush pad in the Point Dume neighborhood, a star-studded area where Julia Roberts, Chad Smith and Don Rickles call home, reports The Real Estalker.

According to the listing records, the residence is a 3,650-square-foot, single-family residence with a Balinese feel to it. Comprised of four bedrooms and three bathrooms, the house was built by starchitect John Lautner in the early 1970s.

The residence was first listed for $15.9 million in 2012, the Wall Street Journal reports. Paltrow and Martin may have bagged it at a discount as it is unclear if the residence changed ownership in between.

Interiors of the house feature stone floors, wood-beamed tray ceilings and large floor-to-ceiling glass windows. Boasting an open floor plan, living places include a drawing room, a granite-top gourmet kitchen and a separate dining area, with views of the ocean provided throughout.

Outside, the home has a pebble-floor infinity pool, a tennis court and ample recreation area all surrounded by lush greenery.

Paltrow and Martin recently sold off their London home for $11.4 million. The couple purchased two adjacent residences and merged them to create a 33-room mansion, but sold it after a number of run-ins with neighbors, who were unhappy due to the constant construction.

This is not the first time the couple has had problems in the community: Back in May 2013, Paltrow's Los Angeles neighbors filed a complaint against her saying her gate was too high, reports E!Online.

In January, Paltrow was also redoing her East Hamptons home.

The couple and their two kids, Moses and Apple, were seen relaxing on Venice Beach in California recently, according to the Daily Mail.
