'Bloodborne' Receives Big Patch Ahead of Upcoming 'The Old Hunters' Expansion

The PlayStation 4-exclusive horror game "Bloodborne" has just received a gigantic update from developers ahead of its upcoming, highly anticipated expansion, "The Old Hunters" on Nov 24.

A certain forum member, ZerosevEx, has taken to Reddit to share that the update was 9.37GB in file size. The PlayStation Blog has elaborated what comprises the patch data. As stated in the blog, patch 1.07 brings new features and a large-scale changes to the online part of "Bloodborne." It is also through this patch that the "League feature will be added, introducing new NPC that you can someone to your aid.

This leads many to believe that the patch is somewhat a preparation for the upcoming expansion.

The previous blog post for "Bloodborne" has explained that the "League" is a group of sworn Hunters serving a single purpose. Being in the "League" will let players assist other online players and compete in The League's online rankings leaderboard. The "League" is led by a mysterious figure wearing constable's garb and bucket helmet.

After patch 1.07 is downloaded, players can now join the league by conferencing with Summon Master Valtr and obtaining the "Impurity" rune. Moreover, the latest blog says, "You'll need to summon him inside the shack to the right of the first lamp in the Forbidden Forest. Once you have memorized the 'Impurity' rune, you will be able to access League ranking screens. Upon successfully completing a coop session, you'll receive the 'Vermin' which you must crush to increase your points and therefore your position on the League leaderboard."

According to Gamespot, "The Old Hunters" expansion will follow the tale of "legendary hunters." The expansion is set in a "nightmare world where hunters from the past are trapped forever."

"The Old Hunters" will cost $19 to download on Nov. 24. On Dec. 5, Sony will also release a "Bloodborne: The Old Hunters Edition" that contains the original game with the expansion.
