Jamie Dornan is all set to reprise his role as Christian Grey, the dashing billionaire with a dark side. Speaking to People Magazine, the 33-year-old Irish actor said he's excited for "Fifty Shades Darker."
"I'm looking forward to embodying Christian again - and getting a chance to show more of him," he said.
"Fifty Shades Darker" is the much-anticipated sequel to the Fifty Shades trilogy based on the erotic romance novels by E.L. James. The book tells the continuation of the romance between Christian and Anastasia, after their split at the end scene of the previous novel. Anastasia has just graduated from college and is working for a publishing firm. The two reunite, and amidst external challenges, Christian proposes to Anastasia by the end of the book.
The first installment, "Fifty Shades of Grey," was released early this year and was an international blockbuster, catapulting Dornan and his co-star Dakota Johnson (Anastasia Steele) into Hollywood success. The sexy theme of the series also made Dornan an instant heartthrob, and the actor was named one of Men of the Year in People's Sexiest Men Alive of 2015.
Dornan also plays another troubled character in BBC's "The Fall." The actor is currently filming its third season in his hometown in Ireland. According to him, the best part of working on the series is "Getting to film in Belfast (where I grew up) and being surrounded by fellow Irish people," Dornan told People.
Dornan and his wife Amelia Warner has just recently purchased a $2.7 million mansion in Cotswold, England, where they are planning to settle with their growing family. As previously reported, the couple is expecting a second child. E! Online has just confirmed the news after Warner was photographed with an obvious baby bump. The notoriously private couple has not revealed Warner's due date.
"Fifty Shades Darker" resumes filming in early 2016 and is due for a theatrical release on Feb. 10, 2017.
