After the successful release of Adele's "Hello," the singer has released another hit song in "When We Were Young." According to the teaser of her latest song, it is set to be released on Friday. Adele's new album highlights nine extra songs aside from "Hello" and the recent release, "When We Were Young."
Adele, together with Tobias Jesso Jr, wrote the song. The 27-year-old British singer shared her inspiration in making her latest song "When We Were Young" says Vanity Fair. Adele expressed that the song is like a think-back of what happened in her past, and she got inspired with everyone she ever loved and even those she never loved, and she was also inspired with everyone she has fallen out of love with.
On Australia's 60 Minutes interview, the singer performed and gave a short teaser of her new song "When We Were Young." In addition to the report, "When We Were Young" was shared as a nostalgic tear-jerker by Yahoo! Music, describing that it incorporates someone's past and schemes some pleasant memories. The latest song is a follow-up to the singer's recent hit song "Hello," which became a chart topper in its first week of release. "Hello" also had 50 million views in its first 48 hours or in its first two days, not to mention 27.7 million views in one day alone.
The "When We Were Young" clip was directed and managed by Paul Dugdale, an award-winning director. Dugdale also helmed several music videos of artists such as Ed Sheeran, The Prodigy and Rolling Stones. According to Rolling Stone, Adele's newest song "When We Were Young" will be another soaring ballad.
Currently, Adele is leading the charts with her new songs in the pipeline which showcase and interpret her personal past experiences in life that fans could relate with. The said song "When We Were Young," has already been released on Friday, Nov. 20, 2015.
