‘Mr. Robot’ Spoilers for Season 2: Showrunner Says Important Question Will Be Answered

"Mr. Robot" creator Sam Esmail reveals that the second season of the hit TV series will be providing an answer to a lingering question that fans have for the groundbreaking show.

In an event hosted by USA Network, stars of 2015's breakaway hit television series "Mr. Robot" joined creator Esmail to answer some questions from media about their slated return for a second year in 2016. According to HNGN, the showrunner is not ready to play spoiler for his own show. He admits to keeping secret many details about the series especially now that they have been touted as being the top rated show for this year. However, he did address one concern that many viewers and fans are curious to know about.

This "special concern" refers to the revelation in the show about the character that Christian Slater plays on the show, "Mr. Robot." As was revealed, "Mr. Robot" is just a product of Elliot's mind and is actually his father whom he has had no contact for a very long time. What fans are trying to get a grasp on is how on earth is "Mr. Robot" able to communicate with other people that surround Elliot if he is just a figment of Elliot's imagination. Esmail will not share specific details but he said, "We'll specifically address that scene in the second season."

In a report by Deadline, Esmail was asked about what will happen to Elliot and Fernando Vera the drug lord; will they fight it out over the death of Shayla? He said that the show's writers are all in the room and he believes the team will consider that pitch. He also revealed some of the techniques they used to ramp up the suspense for season one. He was beaming for the star of the show, Rami Malek, who he praised for being able to tone down the character of Elliot and be the protagonist that the audience can easily identify with.
