All of the "American Idol" judges for the past 14 years are going to return to the show's 15th and final season, Idol host Ryan Seacrest has revealed.
Seacrest has confirmed to E! Online during "American Idol's" Hollywood Week, "We will have the former judges back."
"The plan is to have all of them back. They've all considered it and I think are enthusiastic about coming back and saluting the show," he added.
Ryan also told Access Hollywood "I've spoken to all of them recently and we as a team have talked to them about coming back to do something for the final season. They are going to do it it's just a matter of figuring what to do with them."
"American Idol" will be airing its farewell season and it is just right to go back to its root and bring those who have been strong pillars of the show. Fans would probably be pleased to see the original judges Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell at some point during the competition. The current judges, Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr., are all looking forward to that.
Harry told E! Online that he is willing to give his chair to Simon, saying, "He can sit there, hell yeah. I'll go up and sing for him and let him judge me."
While Keith would like to see frenemies Simon and Ellen together. "I'd like to see Ellen and Simon sitting very close to each other, right next to each other, showing people that chemistry," he said jokingly. "I think it's important for people to see that."
Other former "American Idol" judges include Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Ellen DeGeneres, Steven Tyler, and Kara DioGuardi. Paula, Randy and Simon were together for eight seasons until Paula left in Season 9 and Simon in 2010 for "The X Factor."
"American Idol" Season 15 is slated to premiere on Jan. 6, 2016 on Fox.
