'Wonder Woman' Officially Begins Filming; Film Is Slated For Release In 2017

The much-anticipated film "Wonder Woman" has officially begun filming with Gal Gadot playing the Amazonian princess from the popular DC comics.

Gadot stoked fans' anticipation when she tweeted "Almost 75 years in the making... #WonderWoman is underway" along with a photo of herself in a cloak and Wonder Woman's famous tiara. The background of the photo shows a foggy London scene.

The film will be released under Warner Bros. and is slated for release in 2017, an article on CNN.com indicated.

Although there were problems during the filming, things were now finally moving forward, an article on Yahoo reported.

It was mentioned that Michelle MacLaren exited the production last April due to "creative differences." But Warner Bros/DC Comics were able to replace MacLaren immediately and gave the director's chair to Patty Jenkins (Monster) to keep the project on track.

CNET mentioned that the film is already underway in the United Kingdom, France, and Italy, a report which they got from Forbes.

An article on Maxim stated that Gadot's beauty is lethal. And her two-year stint in the Israel Defense Forces made her fit for the role.

She started her career with her breakout role in "The Fast and the Furious" franchise where she did most of her own stunts for "Fast and Furious 6."

Chris Pine ("Star Trek") will play as Gadot's love interest, Captain Steve Trevor.

Other casts include Robin Wright ("House of Cards"), Danny Huston ("X-Men Origins: Wolverine"), David Thewlis ("Harry Potter" series), Ewen Bremner ("Snowpiercer"), Saïd Taghmaoui ("American Hustle"), Elena Anaya ("The Skin I Live In"), and Lucy Davis ("Shaun of the Dead").

'Wonder Woman' Israeli newcomer Gadot will be seen by fans sooner this coming March 25, 2016 for "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice."

'Wonder Woman' will come and hit theaters this coming June 23, 2017.
