Inside Elton John's New Album and His Involvement in Ed Sheeran's Career

There's no stopping Sir Elton John to do music. The legendary singer-songwriter is on the works for his new album that will be released in 2016.

Rolling Stone recently interviewed Sir Elton John in which he gave details on what we can expect for his next album. According to the interview, the album will be upbeat and will be called "Wonderful Crazy Night". The singer has been working with lyricist Bernie Taupin for 48 years and will continue working for this album.

Taupin wrote some of Elton John's hits like "Bennie and the Jets". "Candle in the Wind", "Don't Go Breaking My Heart", "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me", "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road", "Rocket Man", "Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word", "Tiny Dancer", and "Your Song".

The new album will contain more happy songs, according to John. He told Rolling Stone, "I wanted to make a happy record. "Joyous" was the word I chose. Not happy, joyous. I said I want it to feel joyous from beginning to end, and even the slow songs should be joyous".

He also shared that they recorded 14 tracks in 17 days, similarly to John's album "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road". He's also working with producer T Bone Burnett for the third time.

John also told Rolling Stones that he's also giving advise to Ed Sheeran, he said, "I've been advising him, and own the company that manages him. He asks me for advice. For example, a couple of years ago, he told me that the record company wanted a follow up to +, but he was also offered a tour with Taylor Swift, 88 shows in America. He said to me. "What should I do?" I said to him, "It's a no-brainer. You do the 88 shows with Taylor Swift. She'll be on top of the bill. You'll be coming on when people are coming in. It's not your audience. It'll give you so much backbone, and you can't buy that experience. And you know Taylor. You like her. Do that — there's plenty of time for a second record."

The two performed Sheeran's song "A Team" as a duet at the 2013 Grammy Awards. "I think that "The A Team" took a year, and they wouldn't put him on the Grammys. I said to them, "Listen, I'll do a duet with him on 'The A Team.'" That got him on the Grammys because that's what I do. I'm a manager. It was a vital move for him," he said.

"Wonderful Crazy Night" is John's 30th solo studio album and it will be released on February 5th, 2016.
