Jared Weaver, LA Angels star, has sold his Mediterranean home in Pacific Ridge, the elite guard-gated community in Orange County's Newport Coast, for $1.6 million, reports Realtor.
Built in 2004, the home is spread over 2,475 square feet and includes three bedrooms and three full bathrooms, in addition to a great room, a gourmet kitchen with a large center island and stainless steel appliances. The master suite features an office, a private sitting area, custom "he and her" closets and a bath with a soaking tub.
On the exterior, this quarter-acre property has a fireplace, an outdoor kitchen, an in-ground spa and a pond. In addition to these facilities, people inhabiting Pacific Ridge are also allowed to utilize the facilities offered by the community, including a swimming pool, a spa and hiking grounds.
Local property records show that Weaver purchased the estate for $1.36 million in 2010 soon after he signed a five-year, $85 million contract with the Angels. He put the property on the market for the first time in January for $1,799,000.
As Newport is close to the Angels Stadium, the area has always been a favorite of former and present players.
Earlier, John Lackey, an Angels starter, also listed his 9,100-square-foot Crystal Cove mansion for about $10 million. The property finally sold for $8.8 million in January 2013.
In February last year, Torii Hunter, a former Angels outfielder, sold his 4,346-square-foot Crystal Cove home for $3,975,000.
When Weaver listed his mansion, his as well as Angels fans were apprehensive that the player was leaving the team. However, such worries have proved to be unfounded, as the baseball star owns another property in Westlake Village, Calif.
The mansion was listed with broker Trista Bouchard of Realty Co-Op.
