Jay Z's Brooklyn "Stash Pot" has reportedly found a buyer, according to reports.
An insider confirmed with Curbed NY that the home made famous in the rap lyrics of the popular song "Empire State of Mind" has sold above the $870,000 asking price, although the exact sale price is unknown.
The condo sold while Jay Z and wife Beyonce were busy checking out a $25 million Hampton mega-mansion.
In his ode to New York City, Jay Z raps about his former "drug storage," saying:
"I used to cop in Harlem, all of my Dominicanos
Right there up on Broadway, pull me back to that McDonald's
Took it to my stash spot, 560 State Street
Catch me in the kitchen like a Simmons with them pastries."
Vulture magazine headed over to 560 State Street to investigate the authenticity of the address and interviewed long-time residents of the building after the song was released. The inhabitants said Jay Z moved into apartment 10B sometime in late 1996 or early 1997. They added that they never found anything suspicious about Jay Z, saying he was quite the gentleman.
"He would nod his head to you in the hallway. He'd open the door for you," Nathan Dudley, a resident, said. "He always had a group of people with him, but not many going in and out."
Jay Z moved out of the neighborhood after his debut album "Reasonable Doubt" was released. With his commercial success, he abandoned his dealer duties.
The residence at 560 State Street is a 1,045-square-foot condo comprised of two bedrooms, one full and one half bathrooms. It last sold in September 2005 for $598,019.
Interiors of the home include light hardwood floors and large windows offering views of the neighborhood below. The kitchen has a small mid-rise island.

"Empire State of Mind" won a Grammy in 2009 for "Best Rap Song." It features Alicia Keys on the chorus and some vocals.
